Email me to sign up for the 2015 CPAN pull request challenge! Each month I'll assign you a CPAN distribution, randomly selected. You'll have a month to submit a pull request.

This idea was prompted by OALDERS's blog post on 24pullrequests, I had an idea for a more gentle challenge for 2015:

There are lots of things you could do, and it doesn't matter if you're not familiar with github — just let us know, and we'll help you get started. You don't need to be very experienced with Perl either: this is an opportunity to learn a bit more.

I think this is a good way to help others, learn a bit more about CPAN, and talk to random people in the community. Exposure to other peoples' code is also a good way to learn, even if sometimes you learn about things not to do :-)

Here's what I'm thinking for the 'rules':

• I'll make sure you get a different author every month.
• I'll probably make sure each dist gets picked no more than once.
• If you get a dist that you really don't want, you'll be able to request another one. You might get a Win32 dist and not have access to Windows. You could still do a doc PR, but I accept you might want to be run all tests.
• I'll probably exclude Acme and various other namespaces.
• I'll probably set up various leaderboards, things like most PRs, most distributions PR'd, etc.
